I’ve always found it fascinating thinking about where my favorite writers and authors write from… And I don’t mean that place inside themselves that they reveal through their words!

Were my favorite characters thrown down onto the page amidst the hulla-ba-loo of busy cafe, in a quiet library nook or thumb typed from a packed subway or bus? Were they dictated while driving or born in the pristine writing cave of a tidy home office, miraculously dust-and-clutter-free and lovingly bedecked with trinkets to inspire the muse? Or, if the author or writer was a fellow writing mamma or papa, were they cobbled together in stolen moments amidst the daily chaos of family life, migrating from space to space as the chaos allowed?

Personally, I’m a strange mix of home-body and cafe nomad. I love writing from my kitchen but, when the mood strikes, I take to the streets or jump in my car to visit one of my favorite cafe haunts around Seattle armed only with my laptop, crazy imagination and spotify writing playlist.

How about you? What’s your favorite writing spot?

With love,

M.S.
